Me And My Gynocologist/Oncologist

had a little chat today before my actual exam.

I was telling him about all the supplements, vitamins, herbs, and cleansing processes that everyone seems to be talking about. He just smiled and said, "And are all these people really any healthier than you? Some people take all this stuff and still never feel well." He said that as long as you feel well and all is well, to kinda leave well enough alone.

Anyway, my scooth was a perfect 10 and my exam was A+ OK. Come back in three months which will bring me 2 months shy of my 2 hysterectomy anniversary.

I think we can choose what type of post chemo life we want. I agree with your doctor. I choose to take a daily multivitamin, increase vegetable and whole grains in my diet, and exercise. That's about what I can handle and still feel content. I treat myself to a dish of ice cream weekly. There's also donut day at work weekly....My list of exceptions gets quite long.

Ruth,,, I totally agree with you. So I do take my one a day weight smart vitamin, I go to the circuit gym 4 to 5 times a week, and I also have increased my intake of vegetables and look for healthier foods. And as long as this keeps me healthy, I am good with that.

With everyone talking about everything else, I was really starting to feel as if I was letting myself down. But I am not, not according to my doctors and me.

With that perfect sccotch, you must be in pretty good shape. So happy to hear things are well!!

I am so so so happy for you! My dr. feels the same way about adding all the vitamins, supplements etc. And I feel the same way you do. I take a multi, super b, and am going to add vitamins e & c. I have a very hard time swallowing vitamins and supplements - because years ago I took so many for so long...that I just can't do it now. I also take calcium supplements. I have improved my diet (more fruits and veggies, much less sugar and processed foods) but I still haven't gotten my butt in a regular exercise mode, but I am getting there.
