No Libido and No Health Insurance

I had my Hyst back in May of 2003, got to keep one ovary. At my 6 week check up, my doctor deemed all well and hubby and I began to work out way back to "normal activities". To make a long story short, all is well except that I have no sex drive whatsoever (and this was never a problem before). I do have vaginal dryness, but Astroglide does the trick in this area. I've read all the wonderful posts on the compounded testosterone cream but I have no health insurance right now (hubby lost job, got new one, but no benefits), and cannot afford the testing. Any OTC products to recommend for libido loss? I welcome any suggestions.

Looking for answers,
Beck.

No Libido and No Health Insurance

Beck,
Have you read this article about the libido https://www.hystersisters.com/vb2/hsa...hp?s=&id=97212

Perhaps you could give your doctor a call and discuss with the doc about your insurance situation. Maybe they will work with you.

I would hesitate to take something OTC without knowing exactly where the problem is. A lack of libido can be a sign of an estrogen imbalance and is not always from a lack of testosterone. The dryness issue can also be a symptom of a lack of estrogen. Many times the OTC products end up costing just as much as a prescription.

No Libido and No Health Insurance

I kept both ovaries and am having hot flashes/night sweats. The dr. thinks I'm periomenopausal, since my hormones tests normal. She suggested taking over the counter herbal supplements. Since, you have your one ovary, as well, maybe it's just not functioning up to par, like mine. After the surgery, the night sweats were awful, then the libdo went into hyperdrive for about four months (that was nice) but now it's dipped the other way. The herbal helps somewhat with the nightsweats and the libdo but it's not a miracle cure. If you check the no hormone jungle forum you could find what those girls like.
Good luck with your search.
