Hormones - sigh, they will be the end of me I fear

Hello Ladies

I am currently battling two hormone issues. Firstly my thyroid has retired and I am trying to balance my thyroid with thyroxine.

Secondly, I am 47 and while I havent had a hyster I have menopause issues. I had a Mirena inserted 3 months ago - spotting at first but that was OK UNTIL I also started on estrace - I think this is your Vivelle dot. I started cramping within a couple of days and now the spotting is now unpleasant. BUT I think I feel better in myself.

So any suggestions? Does the spotting get better? I have only been on the patch for just over a week.

Thankyou for any help

Hi aussione

This is not a typical scenario we see here in the jungle---Mirena along with estradiol replacement. Since Mirena is an intrauterine device, it could be what is causing your spotting and cramping---or perhaps the extra estradiol you are getting from the patch could be exacerbating your symptoms?

I think you should give your a call and discuss what's going on.
