Granulation

What is granulation? My dr said I have it, but he didn't seem concerned, and there were other more pressing questions, so I didn't think to ask.

Thanks!

Hi,

Granulation is unhealed tissue on the vaginal cuff where they sewed the opening from where the cervix was. It is usually red and moist and can cause spotting, soreness and cramping. I had it and was treated for it 3 times with silver nitrate. The dr treated me in the office. It does not go away on its own and needs to be treated.

I had it show up at 4 mos. post op. and and the final treatment was at 7mos.

Not everyone gets it. I was a slow healer. The dr will let you know if you have it and it needs to be treated.
