I'm scared...

I'm sitting here in pain again today (I had a few pain free days, so I'm not going to have a pity party for myself yet). My appointment with my GI doc is on Friday (3:00...so of course I've got to wait all day!). I've had the upper and lower GI stuff done...and I'm scared of two things.
1) if he finds something I'm afraid of what the treatment will be. I'm TERRIFIED of any more surgery.
2) I'm afraid he won't find anything...and then what??? I sat on the couch last night in tears because I'm so tired of this pain, and soooooo afraid it won't get resolved anytime soon. I keep reading about IBS and Interstitial Cystitis (the two things my GYN wanted to claim I had) but neither of those match my symptoms.

I'm scared...either way I'm scared. I think I'm most afraid (if I have to pick one) of having the GI doctor say he can't find the problem and can't help me. What will I do???

Okay...I'm freaking out here. Thanks for taking the time to read this little freak out moment of mine.

I'm scared...

Here's a for you. Sounds like you need it. I would be interested in your symptoms and what you have been dealing with. I have been battling my own GI problems that have been DX as IBS. I had the Colonoscopy. Not bad. The prep is worse than the procedure. But I have a lot of stress. Caused by me more than anything else. Try not to worry. I know easier said than done. The sooner you can get fixed up and feeling better, the better. I hope the best for you. If you want to privately email me, that's fine. I would just like to know if you are having the same thing I am. I am going to the OBGYN this afternoon. Fun. I am hoping he can help me out. Take care of yourself.

Hi hun...

Let's see...

I had a partial bowel obstruction immediately after my hyster and had to have the NG tube down my nose for 3 days. Ewww.

I don't know for sure if my symptoms now are related (but they feel VERY similiar to the obstructed bowel symptoms).

I have pain immediately after eating... a very severe, cramping, sharp pain right above my incision. Sometimes it causes me to vomit. The pain lasts for 4-5 hours...and it doesn't matter how much or how little I eat or what I eat...it HURTS! This lasts for 4-5 days, then I have a few pain-free days.

My GI doctor suspects that the intestines are either kinked, twisted or partially obstructed.

You can PM me if you want to...I'll be happy to tell you what I've learned so far. These are the symptoms I've had since my hyster, but they are getting worse. I never had this kind of problem before the hyster.

I hope your appointment goes well.
