(((Nancy))) Good luck today as you go off for your radiation simulation, pre-tests, bloodwork, ekg, etc. It sounds like it will be a busy day for you. I hope all goes well. I'll be 'ing for you as you take your first big step toward being Cancer Free !

Nancy, best wishes

It'll be a busy tiring day most likely--but you're on the road now to recovery. Hope you ask tons of questions and get good test results.

I'm Back

Ok.
So who feels guilty for not warning me about exactly how they "mark where the vagina" is in the CT simulation???LOLOL

Lordy, what a shock. Doable, but surprising.....actually I was probably better off not knowing ahead of time

Got all the labwork done which includes my first CA125. Echocardiogram, chest xrays, urine test, and three vials of blood. Research nurse has marked my file that I will get copies of everything that is done from here on out.

First radiation set for Monday, the 24th at 9:15. I am to arrive early (8:30) for the tattoos to be marked in the correct position after the radiation/oncology team has determined where they should be from the preliminary simulation.

IF I stay on schedule, blood counts up, don't get down sick, or weather delayed.....my 28th and final treatment should be on the 5th of January. Yes, I've already counted it down and marked all the calendars. (And yes, they are calling for our first snow of the season for Sunday night into Monday morning, jeez.)

Had a long visit with the two research nurses from the GOG-0184 clinical trial study. I showed them everything I had found on the Internet about the study so far.....and they were able to explain ALOT to me about the meanings of many things in the study findings. Such as.....I thought I had metastisized because they found the cancer cells in one lymph node. But they said no. The lymph node does not count as metastized (I know I'm spelling this wrong but still have surgery brain).

Oh, I found out so much from them. It will take me awhile to digest it all. If I remember anything that I feel needs to be shared with you about statistics, trials, etc....I'll start another topic.

Oh yes, we spent about 30 minutes in the underground tunnel with the research nurses, gyn/onc staff and rad. staff. We had a tornado warning. What a day!

Thanks to you all for your support and help,
nancy j
