Bleeding and Migraines and complications from Leep

Since the leep, I have been bleeding steadily. I went for my post op check on 11/10/03 and had silver nitrate put on the cervix. I continued to bleed heavily and had to go back to my ob/gyn on 11/17/03 who said sometimes people have to re-admitted to hospital to cauterize the cervix. He then packed me again with Monsel's solution OUCH and took the wait and see approach. I had the bleeding dissipate for a day or so, and started to bleed again last evening. has anyone had similar problems after Leep? I am scheduloed for another pap on 12/29/03, but frankly I feel as if i should be consulting a gynecological surgeon and/or oncologist in case I need another procedure if i continue with the dysplasia and CIN III. Maybe my ob/gyn is not as familiar as they would be with these types of procedures. On another frustrating note, I have had crippling migraines since the procedure and he put me on the Micronor birth control pill. I cannot take the triptan types of medication e.g imitrex, has anyone else used some type of pain management they can recommend? I used to take the Stadol nasal spray since I used to get one really bad menstrual migraine a month, but it makes me sick as a dog, and unable to drive or go to work. At my wit's end......................................Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Bleeding and Migraines and complications from Leep

I'm so sorry you are having problems!

I did not have any complications after my LEEP, but if you are bleeding again, you really should call your doctor and come up with the next course of action. They need to get your bleeding stopped. They may need to postpone your PAP--you need to be fully healed for a few weeks before they can get an accurate reading, is my understanding.

As far as the gyn/onc, well, as second opinion never hurt anyone. You might choose to do that now, or you might wait until your first PAP results come back. Talk to your doctor and see if you can get a referral.

I've never had a migraine, so I can't help with that.

Good luck! I hope this is all taken care of soon.
