Great checkup and thank you, Siren

First, Siren, I want to thank you (and I'm sure I speak for many women here), on your quest for knowledge on ovarian cancer and sharing it with all of us here.
I enjoyed reading all of the information at Dr Wallace's web site after you had attended the ovca conference. This was all very interesting and informative. I've always been a pretty healthy eater and love fresh vegetables and salad, but this just added to my knowledge base on diet and cancer and I'm making some more positive changes.
I had my CA125 drawn last week for my checkup yesterday. I called my gyn/onc office to ask them to add a C-reactive protein. The nurse was accomodating and said she wasn't sure if my insurance would pay. I said I would pay if needed. She said, "we wouldn't know what to do with the results." I told her that was fine, it was really for my own curiousity. I had also printed all of the info from Dr Wallace's site on ovarian ca to give to my doctor.
My doctor said she had all ready read the info, has a copy, and
and is interested in Dr Wallace's research. I was happy to hear that she is open minded.
And, finally, my CA125 is 5.6 (it was up to 60 post surgery) and my C-reactive protein is only .11 (normal range up to 1.). I said did you say .11 or 1.1. It's only .11!! Yeah.
Thanks again, so much SS.

Great news! I also love reading all the info. Siren and others have posted, especially about nutrition. It really makes me think before I eat something , that is for sure! Anyway, I am so happy that you got a good checkup!

Wow
A CA 125 of 5.5 & a perfect 10 scootch!! You can't get better than that. Keep up the good work. I'm so glad you have a doctor willing to listen to you and allow you to be an active partner in your care. That alone is worth millions.

Celebrate your day.

Scootch/scooth

What is it about scootch that I cannot spell right? I think I'm posting to early.
Thanks, Rhonda and Ruth for the well wishes.
