Breast mass!?!?!?

I know I'm posting a little late.... I had my mammogram first week October & they found *something* in my right breast. Two weeks later I had a spot compression mammogram & breast ultrasound. In addition to another pelvic ultrasound. I was scheduled for a TAH on Nov. 4. I later received a letter stating my breast was "probably benign" I have to retest in Feb. or March. A friend of mine sounded worried as she felt they were just letting me deal with one thing at a time and post poning my breast diagnosis. Right now I'm recovering from a TAH, BSO, appendectomy, removal of 7 lbs of fibroids (largest 7.5 cm and giving me lots of pain), cycts, and endo. <4 weeks yesterday>

I also have way too much going on. Having to stay home has played havoc on my business & bills. Also having to fight with my insurance company over ever little bill, much less the $5K I had to pay out of pocket. The stress of still not knowing for sure isn't helping...

Thanks for letting me vent.

Breast mass!?!?!?

Dear Lmarine...

I recently had something similiar... two weeks after the first mammogram I had the compression mammogram and the ultrasound... they told me after the ultrsound everything looked OK.

Here is my suggestion for (for what it is worth)... if you are concerned why don't you call and talk to someone at the mammogram office. When the nurse called me to schedule my follow-up she read me what was on the radiology reports and explained why they were doing the follow-up... it was a big relief to me. That way you can find out from a knowledgable source what/why etc. You don't mention what your friend does for a living but from what you wrote it didn't appear to me she was a radiologist specializing in breast care Sometimes our well-meaning friends (in my case MOM) can really get us worried about nothing.

best wishes for a good recovery!
