New and need some advice...Pain!!!
Hi, I'm new to this website. But hopefully somebody out there will give me some info...I am 30years old. I had an LAVH last monday for probable adenomyosis, fibroids, and an abnormally large uterus. They left both of my ovaries. My Dr. told me in recovery there was a cyst on one of my ovaries I think he romeved it (the cyst). But know I am having extreme right sided pain (cramping). Is this normal? Could there be something wrong with my ovaries? Has anyone had this problem leading to more surgery? I guess I'm feeling alittle discourged because I have had such major problems leading up to this surgery, now I'm post-op and I'm feeling more pain. I don't mean to complain but can someone help me get some clarity....

1 1/2 weeks post-op. PAIN!!
Hi and welcome to Hyster Sisters!
Any new or unusual pain should always be reported to your doctor.
Having said that, I can tell you that many women complain about the pain being worse on one side or the other (usually the right side.) There are several factors responsible for this, but it usually does go away within a week or so.
Also, you may be having more pain because the effects of the anesthesia and pain meds are wearing off. So you may "feel" your surgery more. In addition, your internal sutures will start dissolving in a week or two, and that may cause some additional pain.
You're still very early in recovery, so be sure that you're getting plenty of rest and not overdoing it. You only get one chance to heal properly and this is it!
And again, be sure to give your doctor a call, just to be on the safe side.
Best wishes and s,
Lisa
