Surgery With Period?

Hi

I have my surgery scheduled for to,orrow and tonight have just started my period (a week earlier than it should be - probably he stress or some such). Panicking. Will they still do surgery? I don't think I'll cope if they don't ....

Hi Sarita - I had my period as well the day I had my surgery. The doctor told me that they were removing everything anyway so it didn't matter. I am not sure what type of surgery you're having but it shouldn't matter. Give your doctor a call just to be sure. Sending hugs your way. Hang in there and come back when it's all over. Pam

Many Sisters have surgery because their periods won't stop. It won't make a difference. Just think...a true eviction of Aunt Flo!

Amazing how many gals have had this same situation!! I started my period right before my surgery, too. I called the doctor and asked if we could still go ahead with the surgery, and he assured me that we could. I went into surgery with it and came out without!!

I am 10 days post-op. I had a laproscopic supracervical hysterectomy due to irregular, HEAVY, painful periods. I had never heard of such a procedure before, but I highly recommend it. I was back to work in 4 days and was allowed to have sex after a week (which delighted my hubby ).
