Surgery Postponed!

Well, I went for my pre-op yesterday (that's in another thread) and have really gotten my self ready for next Wednesday emotionally, physically and spiritually.

Well, this morning I got a call from the GYN's office that they have to postpone me from November 26 to December 18 due to a cancer emergency. I have actually been on a priority waiting list for four months to have the surgery sooner, and ironically when the original date finally comes it is taken away. Now I am on the priority list again so need to be on the ready.

At first I was devistated and in the "why me Lord" phase, but I quickly came out of it and am now ready to wait it out another month. The idea of one more cycle is not a pleasant one, but I will get through it like all the others. And it does give me a little more time to get things in order around here - not that everything isn't all ready. I can enjoy things a little more too.

So, any ideas on how to "get back into life" for a month after you have switched totally into castle mode?

bless your heart~

One of the biggest fears of many ladies in waiting...having surgery postponed...I am sorry that you are in the wait mode for a little while longer!!!!!hugs!!!

I am sure that you will make good use of this time, perhaps buying presents for Christmas (if you celebrate), or having the extra time with that someone special (if your attached) is a good way to pass the time...

I hope the time flies by for you as fast as my 3 week notice did...

best of luck to you & yours!

Surgery Postponed!

I have been all prepared for Christmas for the past two weeks so that I would have nothing to worry about for the next month, so I guess the only thing to do is wait - I mean after four months I should be good at it by now!

Thanks for your prayers.

Follow the Bouncing Date!

I just got a call from the surgeon's office that they were able to move my surgery back up to December 3rd, which is just one week after it was originally supposed to be. They said I was most gracious about being bumped so she hoped this new date would be better.

God is so good! First he taught me that I was being a little self-absorbed about the whole thing and then when I realized this and just lifted it all to Him (accepting the 18th as my date), He made a compromise that is totally acceptable. If I was prepared to wait another 4 weeks, one is a piece of cake.

And since I am pretty well ready for surgery this week and Christmas, I can just enjoy the free time - maybe catch up on some reading or something! For those of you concerned about me doing too much a few weeks ago, I am finally going to do what I was told!

Thanks for this website, just for letting me vent sometimes and for all the wonderful advice. Also, just looking at other people's situations, I reallize I have it okay.

Surgery Postponed!

Hi Lady Purple I am having my surgery the same day as yours! When I had a cat scan two weeks ago the radiologist called me at home and left a message on my answering machine to see my gyn immediately cause my fibroid was so big and hitting vital organs inside me. First my gyn said February (she is booked up) my regular doctor suggested a second opinion, I went to another doctor who could do surgery the 1st week in December then I told my gyn to forward the files, all of a sudden my gym was free on the third also so I am glad she is doing the surgery she was going to give me lupron while I waited and I am so glad they did not have to do this, since we are having the surgery on the 3rd I am not planning on doing anything for the holidays but I am hoping to at least be in reasonably good shape so I can open my presents good luck to you and please check back with me as soon as you are online, this waiting is so wierd I am begining to have nightmares and such. In any event talk to you soon
