sleeping on tummy

This question isn't of earthshaking importance, but I just do not sleep well in any position except my stomach. I can just imagine rolling over in my sleep onto my stomach! Ouch! How long was it before you could comfortably sleep on your stomach again? Thanks.

sleeping on tummy

Hi

For about 2 weeks I slept on my back, I had pillows all around me so I wouldn't be able to turn over, also it's important to place one under your knees to avoid pulling on the abdomen.

After that I started sleeping on my side, with a pillow behind me and one in front of me, tucked under my stomach to support it. It wasn't long after that that I was sleeping on my stomach again, still with the pillow under me for support.

I'm also a side or stomach sleeper, at first it wasn't hard to go to sleep on my back. As I started feeling better (and not taking the heavy duty pain pills) it was harder to sleep that way.

Best wishes!

sleeping on tummy

I normally sleep on my side but have found recently (past few months) how comfy it is on my tummy. I never tried to sleep on my tummy before because I have very large breasts and it seemed uncomfy to lay on them... If pillows are propped right, it works out fine!

Before my surgery (Which was this past monday) I bought myself a body pillow. I can sleep on my tummy with the body pillow. I am slightly off to the side but what I do is I wrap one leg over the pillow and "hug" the part of the pillow at my chest and roll into it. Its very comfy

Good luck

sleeping on tummy

S;ept on my "tummy' for the first time last night! And boy was it comfy (10 days post-op now). Of course, I had to do a little shifting ehre and there, and finally ended up putting a little of the blacket under my thigh to prop it up a bit, but oohhhhh, was it nice to sleep in that position again. First time I can actually say I got a full nights sleep with waking up! Just do what is comfy for you.

sleeping on tummy

Pre-surgery I was a tummy sleeper too. I slept on my back for the first 4 weeks post-op. By then, my lower back was killing me and I was able to lie on my side for brief intervals with pillow support under my tummy. Didn't feel comfortable lying on my tummy until week 6. At week 7, I am now very comfortable sleeping on either side or on my tummy.

Your mileage may vary.

sleeping on tummy

I have slept on my tummy for the last 2 nights! The first night I woke myself up and "flipped" over freaking out! ha ha
Last night, I just slowly turned over on my tummy and slept well for a while. I am having trouble sleeping through the night, so I hoping that I can finally get to sleep all night long!

Now all I need is my bath tub!! ahhh.....just the thought of the tub!!
