What is the difference between Xanax and Valium

Ladies,

I just want to know what the difference between Xanax and Valium are?

I was prescribed Valium at 5 mg and it doesn't cut it. I take anywhere between 10 to15 mg at a time.

Any knowledge would be of great help. I have tried Xanax in the past with no luck. It seems I do better taking 15 mg of Valium.

Please inform me. Thanks.

What is the difference between Xanax and Valium

Hi Darlene

I moved your post over here to the Road, as I think you might get more input here.

I do not have personal experience with Xanax, but I do take Valium occasionally when I'm having sleep difficulties. You can do a search on the two drugs, as I just did.....I think they are very similar, since they are both in the family of benzodiazepines.

Some of us have a higher tolerance when it comes to this group of sedatives. My doctor prescribes 5 mg. of Valium for my sleep problems, but I typically have to take 10 mg. The benzodiazepines can be addictive, so I use Valium sparingly.

's to you!

What is the difference between Xanax and Valium

HI I have taken Xanax but not Valium. The dr told me that Xanax is Valium's litte sister...lol Its is not as strong as Valium. I was prescribed .5 but I had to take at least .15 to fell the effects. Like they say though all drugs affect everyone differently. If I had a choice I would choose Valuim. I hope this helps . Good luck.
