Liz's surgery

Wow! That was fast! I am amazed that they could schedule a hysterectomy in one day! It's wonderful that you don't have to wait at all.

I hope it all goes smoothly, and that they get all the cancer and the biopsies are all clear and your recovery is speedy!

Please, keep us posted!

Hugs and Loves,
Janie

Yes, i was quite surprised also, but I was at the hospital for HOURS yesterday with preop stuff. Stopped by the store and got some "castle necessaties" (ya know, reeses cups, hershey's kisses, etc)
I can't believe I had the BEST nights sleep last night since I've been diagnosed. Peaceful!

Well, I've got to get moving. I'm going to spend a couple quiet moments and say goodbye to my uterus this morning!!!!! I guess a parting ceremony??? LOL!

Surgery is scheduled....

It has been 2 weeks now. They got everything and all the path reports were GREAT!

WOO HOO! Now I get to look forward to the 3 month pap visits. I'm not complaining though!

Recovery has been better than expected. She did have to take my left ovary due to a large cyst. She was able to pass on the staples and stitch me with dissolvable internal stitches. The steri strips are gone, and the incision looks WONDERFUL. ALOT better than I ever imagined.

I have been to the mall. Only stayed for about an hour. That same day, my mom and I hit 3 other stores. I'm surprised I made it through the day, but I got alot of shopping done for my boys! The next day, I even made it out of the house to take my baby in for a doctors appt, then walked around Walgreens getting more Christmas stuff while we waited for his prescription (my mom was with me the whole time though!)

I have even had enough energy to clean the ENTIRE house with two exceptions. I will NOT vacuum, and I will NOT stretch to scrub the tub. Other than that, I've done everything else. I was even well enough to drive myself to my 2 week check up. Though, I think that was a total mistake, because I started to have severe gas cramps and was driving like 10 MPH-then had to pull over to let them pass. THEN, I lost my car (was having a total blonde moment) Had to take the elevator to 5 different floors and walk around to find it. OUCH!

I'm very blessed to have made it through all of this easily. I wish the best to all of my sisters here on a healthy and speedy recovery!

Yay for such a speedy recovery, and yay that they got all the cancer out!

I'm also a chocoholic . . . but sugar is a cancer feeder, so if you do indulge in chocolate, try to balance it with a protein to prevent the insulin spike. Raw or dry-roasted (no oil) almonds are a good thing to eat when you splurge on the sugar. Same thing with fruit or anything with sugar. Always balance it with a protein, and that will help.

Stop cleaning the house! Make someone else do it. You've been through a lot!

I'm so happy that they got it all and that you made it through without any major complications. That is just wonderful news! Have a !
