And waiting to get Chemo #7 done! I will be doing another FBC/CBC test this week, to determine whether my platelets are now back in normal range. My last chemo - #6 - was October 22.
Then, when #7 was due, the platelet count was not right, and the same thing when I had a second CBC the next week. So, I have been on a bit of a hiatus, so to speak.

It is my impression that sometimes, cumulatively, chemos can impact counts, to such an extent, that they cannot get back on their own, so the words 'bone marrow' something and transfusion have been mentioned. I really pray not.

Why I am doing now 9 chemos in total is due to the fact that I had had a 5 week break between # 2 and 3, and then had had another op. in August to remove a tumour. So, it's like back up insurance.

One good thing - if it had been back on track, Chemo #7 would have either been on Christmas Eve or, the alternate date, New Year's Eve.

But, I feel really good.

Waiting is the Pits!

I've from the second chemo had to go to a four week vs. three week schedule as my bone marrow and blood couldn't handle the other schedule. Now even four is getting too close sometimes. They would likely give you a platelet transfusion and from what I hear, it's faster than a regular transfusion. Hopefully they'll come up on their own--they're odd little fellows that can come back strong in no time, or they linger and take their own time.

Good luck to you, Wild Rose. Yes, that chemo really does plague those white blood cells. Imagine what it's doing to the cancer! Hope your counts are right back up there when you go for your next blood test.

Wild Rose,
Are you getting enough rest?
I wonder if there are any dietary hints that help to build them back up?

Keeping you in my prayers for an extremely good count!!!
