pain on right side below navel

Hi Im new to this, I had my surgery a year and half ago, I had a TVH. Here lately I have been having pain below my navel and running to my right side. The drs. said that I might have endometrosis, confussed, how can that be with no ovaries. Could a bladder infection cause this pain also.

Unfortunately, some women to have a recurrance of endo without ovaries. If you are on hormone replacement, it is a definite possibility. Even if you are not on hormone replacement, misplaced endometrial tissue can theoretically make its own estrogen and sometimes your body fat can produce a form of estrogen which feeds the tissue.

Did your doctor not rule out bladder infection? Seems to me that he would have ordered a urinalysis and possibly even cultured your urine in order to rule out the bladder.

Your bowels need to be ruled out as a possible cause as well. Are you having any difficulties there? After that, it might be scar tissue from the surgery causing pain. Then again, it might be endo.

One more possibility is back/spinal issues . I had some lower back problems that manifested as pelvic pain.

Unforturnately, you just started down a sometimes difficult road. Hang in there, ask a lot of questions and do your own research and you'll get this resolved in time.

Remember we are here to support you along the way.

Me too

Hi Rae. I'm having the same problems, only I'm about 9 weeks post-op/ I have an appointment with Dr. Friday to talk about this. Mine all seems to be "new" pain ... so we'll see what he says. Keep in touch about this ... I'll be anxious to hear about how you are doing!

Dear Rae,

Endo is a possibility like Michelle mentioned.

Did the doctor check your appendix? Do you still have it? I just mention this because I know that the appendix can refer to the area of the belly button... and it is on the right side.

Did you check in with you regular doctor as well?

I do hope everything is OK. Be sure to keep on those doctors. Let us know if you find anything out.

Thanks for all the replies, it means alot to me knowing that there is someone you can talk to about certain problems that we have had/ or having. I went to the Drs. twice this week, I have a severe bladder infection, also did a ultrasound, did not see anything wrong there. Also went to the hospital and had xrays w/dye will get the results on Monday. Will keep everyone up to date. THanks!!!
