I mean to look into folate sometime.. it sounds good.. I believe a friend recommended that I look into it too.

Commentary.. about vitamins..
In olden times it seems that not too much emphasis was given on them.. Then it seems we got into a culture that felt that great things could be done w/vitamins in megadoses as long as we watched out for side effects.. Nowadays, antioxidants seem to be the rage...

But.. as most of us are trying to ward off the plague of cancer, I would like to mention another school of thought that I am following.. It believes that vitamins/antioxidants can be harmful to those trying to fight off cancer. The antioxidants may prevent "apoptosis", the timely death of a cell. I take a few supplements these days, but no more multivitamins for me..

Hi ChanceHope,

It has been believed for some time that megadoses of antioxidants may be harmful, especially to those on certain types of chemotherapy.

The first inkling was the Alpha-Tocopherol, Beta Carotene trial in smokers, where the people who were assigned to take beta carotene actually had increased lung cancer rates.

I'd talk to your doctor about the multivitamin though, I don't think that doses within normal range would be harmful, unless your doctor tells you otherwise.

I agree, it is a very personal choice, I wasn't trying to tell you to take them, sorry if it came off like that.

I was just worried that without a multivitamin you might become deficient in other vitamins and minerals that might be helpful, that's all.
