Weight Loss/Gain

I try to exercise daily, and I'm afraid of gaining wait during my recovery. What experience have others had? I'm probably 10 lbs overweight now, and I don't want to gain more!!!!!!

Weight Loss/Gain

Far from gaining weight, I lost weight from surgery and the recovery. Lost 15 pounds in the hospital (from 150 down to 135), then gained back 5 pounds in the four weeks afterwards.

Thanks for your replies!!! I really appreciate it. I know its a really stupid thing to worry about at this point, but I've worked so hard this year to lose 15 lbs, I'd hate to go backwards.

Weight Loss/Gain

Holy cow, I have always had a hard time keeping weight on and all of a sudden I am heavier than I ever was. I'm wondering about the hormones, I'm on Premarin and I have a very healthy appetite for the first time in a while! I'm gonna diet right after the holidays, no sense in starting now!

I lost weght too, and I think for me, it was that for 3 weeks afterwards I was very careful to eat small, small portions of food. and I didn't eat any junk food or gaseous foods, plus I did not snacking. what a difference it made...dropped about 7 pounds.

course my habits are returning....but I'm hoping to do better. Walking a lot helps as well.

Weight Loss/Gain

As of Dec 15 (twelve days post op), I'm down seven pounds. My appetite has gone down a lot since having surgery (which I'm not complaining about).

watch those scales

Hi there - I am 6 weeks post op and I think the reason I have put on 7 pounds is because I have only just starting working again (no time for snacking anymore) but while I was taking it easy I was very bored and snacked all the time - I have also given up smoking which is probably why I am snacking more - I am sure things will even out eventually - happy recovery sisters -

Weight Loss/Gain

I lost 15 pounds in the first 2 weeks post TAH/BSO. Then it was from feeling so bad!! Then, my appetite went completely away when I started my Premarin. I lost 18 more pounds. At 10 weeks post-op, I am now 35 pounds LIGHTER than I was when I went in for surgery!!!!!! I have not really even tried to loose. I am adding a DIET to my things to do after holidays too!!! I am expecting to see this weight loss keep on. Since I had my surgery, my hormones are better balanced than they had been in forever!!! I know THERE IS A CONNECTION BETWEEN HORMONES AND WEIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My weight problems all started during the time my hormones got out of whack and got worse each month until my hysterectomy!!! I know I use to retain fluid real bad and now I am not doing that at all!!!

I know that everyone's experience is differant with hormones and weight!!! Hopefully mine will continue down the path I am on right now!!!
