Still Coughing!!!

Hello everyone! I just called my dr's office because as you know i got the flu two days before my surgery date of 12/4 and i still have a cough where i am coughing up stuff, ...they are going to check me today at 4, but i just wanted to know from you all what maybe can be done, or if i will be ok for surgery Friday???
I probably should have called last week, but i kept thinking that it would go away!!

My question is, Is there anything that can be done to clear it in time for surgery Friday?

Still Coughing!!!

Hi fullofhope,

Pray! That would be my suggestion. I have been trying so hard to stay healthy for my Jan 5 date and today I have a touch of a scratchy throat. I keep telling myself it will go away.

Will be praying that they give you the all clear!!!
Hang in there girl.
Best wishes

Still Coughing!!!

I know exactly what you mean. My date is next Thursday 1-8 and with all of the flew going around in close proximity I have just been praying that I don't get it. I've washed my hands so much I think they are getting raw.

Still Coughing!!!

I had bronchitis back in September and went to one of those urgent care places. The doctor wasn't busy (unlike my family doctor who was) and gave me a breathing treatment on this machine. It made a big difference quickly. Perhaps if you go to the doctor tomorrow, you'll be set to go for Friday. That'd be a serious pain to have to postpone it again - for the same illness nearly a month later!! Sure hope it works out for you.

Still Coughing!!!

Well, I went to see my doc and she was called away to deliver a baby! So I had to reschedule for this morning in which I cancelled due to the fact that I have not coughed any last night or this morning. I just hope everything will be ok for Friday.
Thanks for your response, I really appreciate you being here for me!

Still Coughing!!!

Thank you Sparklies! I am ready! I have my pre op visit tomorrow and I will meet the A-man. I think it will seem real to me then, that is when the xanax will really come in handy!
I have not been as bad this time, I think I overdone it the last date!

Still Coughing!!!

Hi FullofHope,

Sounds like things are finally going your way! Try to rest as much as possible this week so you're physically as prepared as you can be. Good luck. I'll be thinking about you.

Sending positive thoughts your way...
