I just read on a post that someone had felt so tired a couple of weeks after surgery and then a couple of months....
I am almost 2 months out from my surgery, and I just am so tired these last few days. I have chalked it up to the holidays, and maybe that is all, as I have pushed myself too much.
Just trying to decipher from being really tired, or starting to feel depressed.
I told my doc last week at my 6 week check up that now that the phsyical healing was well under way, the mental healing was just starting. I cried today when a dear friend told me she was expecting her second child...does it get any easier?!?
Am I making sense to anyone else out there?

I felt exhausted for about 3 months. I am 5 months post-op, and I still sleep more at night than I did pre-op! The exhaustion has improved with time, but it took patience, and it took a lot longer than I expected.

One other thing that really helped to make a difference for me was being methodical about taking a good multivitamin every day, and starting a course of pro-biotics. You can get pro-biotics in any good health food store - the refrigerated ones are the only ones worth taking, and they should have at least 5 billion lactobacillus per dose. My doc explained that the lactobacillus help to put good bacteria back into your gut after antibiotics and the stress of surgery has upset your normal body balance. The good bacteria help you to absorb nutrients and vitamins more efficiently.

Maybe it was my imagination or just chance, but I felt significantly better just 2 or 3 days after starting the vitamins and pro-biotics. However, the long term stamina took longer to recover. It was 3 months or so, before I could take a whole day of running errands on the weekend, for example.
