Need reading suggestions, please

Hi,

I was hoping that some of you wonderladies would be able to give me the names of some books written to help ladies cope with never being able to have child, due to hyst or other. How to live with being a childless couple, etc....

I'm finding it nearly impossible to "get over it", and my best friend is pregnant. She got pregnant during the weekend of my wedding in October.

I feel as if I start crying, I won't stop. I have seen books recommended before, but can't seem to find them right now.

Thanks

FallBride, please read my reply to the post "Another Friend is Pregnant." The book I recommended to that poster isn't aimed toward coping with the inability to have a child, but it is aimed toward anyone who is grieving over any type of loss. It helped me get through the grieving over my infertility. It helped me to heal. It might help you, too.

Best wishes, Helen

Hi (((FallBride))) I'm so sorry you have to go through this. I found this book list which has several titles that look like they might be helpful:

http://www.moretolife.co.uk/booklist2.htm

Some of the more promising titles are:

"A Mother in my Heart" by Ginny Fraser

"Bearing Life: Women's Writings on Childlessness" by Rochelle Ratner

"Childless is Not Less" by Vicky Love

"Coping with Childlessness" by Diane & Peter Houghton

"If Not a Mother" - poems, compiled by Clare Butler

"Never to be a Mother: A Guide for All Women who Didn't, or Couldn't, Have Children" by Linda Hunt Anton

I hope some of these books help you... and I hope you'll continue to post here... we you!
s,
-Linda
