I celebrated the New Year with my 1st haircut!

Yesterday was my "hysterversary"!! One year since the LAVH. My year sure was not as I had expected! I feel like I've gone through the full circle!

So...to celebrate...I got my very 1st haircut! It was so exciting to finally have enough hair to get cut! I have always had long hair, but I've decided to try it short for a while.

Happy New Year!!

1st Haircut

My first one was a high point for me--I hated the curls and they were unruly--but boy, I was so proud!

Curls, curls, curls

You're right about the curls...I had wavy hair before, but now it's very curly! It sure has a mind of its own, too! But, I love it...I'll take any kind of hair to no hair!

I celebrated the New Year with my 1st haircut!

Hi again Linda,

It has been one year since I shed those wigs and assorted other head gear and I have had my hair cut many many times throughout the year. It seems to grow back with a curly vengence!!

Well, I had my hair cut again yesterday and maybe, finally, hopefully, most of the curls are gone and just the waves remain.

You see, I always had really beautiful, strong, thick, straight hair, dirty blonde which I always highlighted. It grew back very dark brown, no grey thank goodness, with thick curls. What a difference.

Anyway, any hair is a good hair day.

I know, I've been there..

Happy Hysterversary
I remember how "normal" I felt when I had my first haircut. It is very interesting to see how your hair changes after chemo. My curls are gone now after several hair cuts. Sometimes when rushed in the morning I remember the bald days of getting out of the shower and just towel drying my scalp.

May you have many hystervarsaries.

I bet that was a great feeling!!! Congrats!!!

I'll be going next week for my last normal haircut before chemo.
Has anyones hair color changed?
I have med/dark brown (streaked with gray) and very straight.
