Update on pain near my scar

I posted awhile back about a lump and pain near a 4 yr old incision scar..

I have been several times to the GYN for this since that post, and after some tests.. he has determined that I have pockets of endo inside of the scar tissue. I already knew I had one on my left side which developed after a c/section in 99. But now its pretty much across the entire area where the scar is.

I was terrified that it was a hernia, but luckily it isnt.

In tune with my hormone cycles.. I swell and hurt.. in the scar area. Pain killers do help a little, but the pain goes away once the hormone cycles even out. ughhhh I feel the most pain about the same time that I would be having my period and shortly before.

I will require surgery.. but I am not ready for it just yet. I already know that everything seems to be contained inside of the scar and my Dr assures me it will stay there.. but it will hurt until I get it fixed. Not only that, but I am afraid it will spread outside of the scar and really cause problems. Surgery will have to be under GA because he said he will really have to get in there and remove it all, plus the lasers to kill out any spots. He wants to open the old scar and look me over good to make sure it hasnt spread.. which he doesnt think it has (nor do I ... yet)

I never had endo before. It developed after my section in 99.

I am trying to keep my chin up. At least it wasnt a hernia.

Hopefully you are almost off the road then.... Did he do a biopsy to determine it was more endo? Just curious since I have a history of endo and am not sure what is going on inside me.

I am glad it sounds like he know what is happening.
