more surgery!

Hi, back again, After having my hyst last June I am due to go back in on 4th Feb for TVT and anterior repair to put the bladder and all the saggy bits back into place, woopee! Many probs with bladder since before hyst, just so uncomfortable and inconvenient. I have had no regrets about the hyst now 7 months on. I feel great although still have a tender bit inside which gets worse when I overdo it.
I have both stress and urge incontinence which I find gets worse according to where I am in monthly cycle ( kept ovaries) and also as the day wears on. I cant keep my bladder very full because of the pain, bladder neck is prolapsed, so consequently I am constantly emptying it to get relief and stop any leaks. This has all become a viscious circle so I am now also trying to retrain my bladder and my brain!
I have been torturing myself as to whether surgery is the best option right now and I am dreading the surgery or rather the recovery afterwards but I have convinced myself that to get it done now is the best thing so I don't have to worry about it getting worse over time which it will and get rid of the uncertainty of the stress incontinence. I need to put some closure on all of this and get on with my life!
All the feedback suggests that it is the only and best option but I just need some support.

more surgery!

Hi there!

I had surgery for a vesicovaginal fistula on Tues of this week. My hyst was on Aug 11/3.

I really think that we do need to be able to get on with our lives and unfortunately for some of us, that means more surgery.

I'm doing the dreaded recovery thing now, wearing a cath and feeling ok but a little weak & swollen..

Just try to remember that though the recovery period & surgery part are indeed CRAPPY, the final outcome is getting back to our lives. The recovery period is temporary, and leads to us being better down the road!

You're in my thoughts and prayers!

more surgery!

I can totally understand that "tez had enuf"

I too had to go through a second surgery 3 months after my TAH. I had a horrible "feeling" about it too.

Just know that we sisters are here for support and WE SO understand your fears and doubts.

I can offer you a big and keep you in my thoughts. Hang in there. It is a long road but there IS an end.

Renee
