Urgent Advice!!!!

Hi sisters
Thank you for your support.

I need advice quickly!!

My sister had her hysterectomy in March. To cut a long story short, she needed the hyster because she had a botched up c section. She has been ill ever since the birth which is nearly two years ago. The hysterectomy has not corrected anything.

She has suffered all this time.

She has rang me five minutes ago, screaming in pain. I am getting my lot ready for the journey to hers which takes about an hour and a half. She has two little ones - the baby and a three year old. I need to get her help. The doctors won't admit her. How can I convince them?

I am leaving soon. What could this be?

Thanks again
hugs

Sue

I'm so sorry!

Sue,
I'm very sorry your sister is in such pain. I don't understand why her doctor won't admit her if she is suffering so.

I also don't know what to offer for advice as you live in the UK and the health system is so different from the US. I'm still trying to figure out why Canadians have to wait 4 months for a simple ultrasound when I can get one in a day.

Do you have an urgent care facility, where you don't need an appointment?
Maybe you need to go to a different doctor for your sister...whatever you do, I'm saying for you and your sister. I hope you can get this resolved.

Thanks

Thank you so much Sheila for your reply.

My sister has fallen asleep exhausted from crying. I am taking her two little ones in the morning (Very reluctantly on her part), and keeping them till after she has seen her doctor - wait for it - on MONDAY!! Perhaps rest will perk her up. She hasn't been resting because the little one is so poorly too. Her house is cold and damp (she doesn't have heating installed) and both the little ones have ear and chest infections.
I am just getting back on my feet after my op in October and just returned to work this week, I am sooo exhausted myself. But I have to find the strength to help her. Our mother died very young (27), I was nine and my sister was only six. I'm all she has.

We have six kids here already, it will be bedlam tomorrow! Wish me luck!

Thank you for your prayers too.

Urgent Advice!!!!

Auntie Sue,
I would be finding a different doctor!
Does she have her ovaries still?
I had a partial done in October, 2 weeks post-op, I had sever pain and ended up in Emergency Room 3 times before my doctor finally did something, the next day he went back in with scope to see what was wrong and my uterus was so swellin, he decided to do a hysterectomy. I still have my right ovary left. Maybe its her ovaries causing this pain. I don't know thou, its just my opinion. But I know I would be getting a 2nd opinion. She doesn't sound like shes doing so well.

Best of Luck to you and your dear sister.
Hang in there, Deb

Thanks

Hi Deb
She said that the pain she was in before the hyster, from the botched up c section, is still there. She kept her right ovary.
Her gynea has signed her off! She has an appt with a bowel specialist on Monday! I wish our system was more like yours. She has waited months for this appointment, her gynae suggested that she live with it! She still can't stand upright! She has coped so well with all the pain but has become so detached from everyone. (Her partners family all think she is milking it!) I feel so sorry for her. I hope that having her little ones for her gives her a much needed rest (I need one too but she isn't even mobile)..............and I feel so guilty and selfish thinking about me, when she is so much worse! She has told me that the little one doesn't sleep - great!

Any ideas on this would be appreciated
Thank you again sisters

Urgent Advice!!!!

Auntie Sue

Have you tried the outside hours doctors in your town or your Emergency Dept, or have you phoned the NHS help line. I cannot see them refusing to look at your sister. I would keep on trying until they listen, but they are usually very good. It is worth a try.

If all fail, I would call 999.

Please keep us informed.

Urgent Advice!!!!

Dear Auntie Sue,

I agree with Nicole.
If it was me, I most certainly wouldn't be waiting until Monday.
I know shes just gotta be miserable. I think for her sake and yours........I'd be calling 999.

My thoughts will be with you both.......Deb

Thank you

Hi all
Thanks again for all your advice and concern. I took the children back at 6 p.m. this evening and boy were they hard work! I'm not surprised she is so worn out! The little one kept us up most of the night! I had less than two hours sleep and I've got work again tomorrow. I am shattered. No energy left. Can hardly walk. (My sister looks fitter than me now!) All my kids rallied round to "help!"
She is going to see the bowel specialist tomorrow morning. I've equipped her with the correct questions - I think. I wish I'd been with her when she saw her gynae, fancy telling her to live with it. She can't even straighten up! She feels certain there is something wrong, and she should know! He put her off by saying further investigation or further surgery could make it worse for her. Nothing could be worse than the way she is living. She has no quality of life at all.
I am so grateful for your support sisters. I need to rest myself now. I think I am healing slower than anticipated, no energy, well, not very much!
Take care all
hugs

Sue

Urgent Advice!!!!

Auntie Sue,

Bless your heart....and your sisters.
I do pray things will be better for her once she sees the new doctor tomorrow.
And you better catch up on your rest also. Please take this advise seriously.

Your a good sister to help out. I know how dear sisters are. I have 4 other sisters and they all mean alot to me. I would do the same for them as you did for your sister.

God Bless you both, rest well, and I will be saying my prayers for you both...DEB
