Scared to death of post-op today-Help!

On my first post-op visit they did not examine me. Dr said that he would next time and not to be worried because it will not hurt. He says if you relax and tighen your vagina muscles it will be fine. I know relax easier said then done! You will be fine!

Thank you, Lori. I don't know why I'm so shaken by this. I hope he doesn't examine me, he just got back into town and it's 3 wks post op instead of 2 and they said he wanted to talk about lab reports directly and then this fever. Don't want any more tests!!! Anyway, I'll take your words of encouragement with me. Can I tell the dr not to come near me !!? " Step AWAY from the patient"...

Thanks again.

Ohhhh, don't worry chances are very good that they will just LOOK at your incision and do some talking! That's all my dr. did for my 3 week check up, so hopefully it will be the same for you.

Good luck!

Thank God for wonderful nurses!

Well, you won't believe this. DR walked in, looked at the suture and the next thing i knew he was snapping a glove! Because of the problems i think that's why he had to do it, but i grabbed DB's arm (and nearly ripped it off!). They did find three things at labs, just reconfirmation that this needed to be done. On the other hand, thank God for wonderful nurses. I responded to someone else's post about *only non-pregnant person in waiting room*saying i was counting my blessing because i go to onc. vs. gyn. and the one time, of course, that i've ever seen a baby in the castle waiting room was today, family waiting for s.o. else! A nurse who knew what i was in for came and got us without a word, just a smile, well before my appt. time to just separate me from that. She was an ANGEL ! So there are wonderful nurses out there looking out for us!!!

Hope all went well with your visit and no pain was involved. Were you given something to fight that nasty fever? I came down with one a day post op and it took about a week of heavy dose antibiotics to get rid off.
Will keep you in my prayers and hope that you are soon on the mend complicatons free. s peggiesue

Just saw your msg after mine posted. Sorry the onc had to get the glove out but as you say he had to do it given the problems you are having. There certainly are "angels" out there looking out for us as that wonderful nurse you mention.
take good care of yourself. blessings, peggiesue

Thanks Peggy. Yeah they did, mega antibiotics. They don't warn you before the exams though. It was like when he did the "surprise" biopsy on me before the surgery-the whole floor heard me, I screamed bloody hell. This time I brought DB so I could "share" the pain quitely! Hope you are feeling better and thanks for the hugs and thoughts.
