1/9 appointment was not good :(

Ellen,

Every time I panicked over a rise in my number you made me feel comfortable and put my mind at ease.

I do know how you are feeling and that lousy number does run our lives. However, a few weeks ago, I went to a seminar that my oncologist was running. It was really very informative and we did discuss the ca125 number rise and fall. As you know, and as you have told me, so many things can upset that number. Look at me,,,, was it the mushroom pills that did it?? who knows but I did stop taking them and the number went down.

Anyway, to get to my point, at the seminar my doc told us about a woman who had a rather high number but an "all clear" on all tests, blood work etc. There was NO sign of anything happening. So...this woman, and the doctor, decided that as long as she felt good and that all else was good, the number would not be a concern to them and they kinda put it on the back burner. I found out later that her number was up in the 200's and that she is still absolutely fine and cancer free.

Hopefully one of your other meds is affecting the number or it definately could be the stress syndrome which you definately seem to be under.

Be strong, my friend...

Rosalie

s Ellen

I am so sorry to read you are having a difficult time.
I understand you have been trying so hard to help your relative.
(acor) But their advice there is sooo right. Sometimes we just have to care for ourself first!!!
Hopefully once you get some sleep, the depression will lessen. If not, try another antidepressent. There is even one newer than celexa now that is getting quite a bit of attention. Unfortunately I can't think of the name.
Perhaps it is time to try something different than carbo. Maybe taxotere? Please don't rule out the possibility of another chemo.
My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Hi Ellen,
I am so sorry that you are having such a rough time. You are such an inspiration to all of us. I agree with the others. Keep on fighting if you can. As for the antidepressants-I had a time last year (one year after my dx) when I had panic attacks. The MD put me on Celexa and a low dose of Klonopin which I was on for a short time. The Klonopin really helped me sleep. I too had insomnia at that time. Please take care of yourself. Hopefully, your good CBC and clear liver are more indicative of your health than the CA 125. My thoughts are with you.

Dear Ellen, so very sorry you are having such a difficult time. Please listen to the other women who are suggesting you get something for the sleeplessness; you need to be able to think clearly and stress just adds up with no sleep. Also do try to put yourself first now. Hope you can talk with your doctor soon too; he may be able to ease some of the things that are nagging at you now. Will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Many s peggiesue

Dear Ellen:

Hope you are getting some rest. Here's a great big Hystersister from all of us.

Have you tried listening to relaxing music? My sister recommends Belle Ruth Naprastek's sleep tapes. They are available online.

Rest well
