What are the odds?

In Oct. 2003, I had a D&C. The results came back atypical hyperplasia bordering on carcinoma in situ. DR recomended complete hysterectomy. On Dec 5 had TAH/BSO, and the survey says, Adenocarcimoma grade 1.

I ask the DR, how many cases like mine he has seen. The answer... I am the first case he has seen in his practice of 26 years.
Do I feel special or what.

What are the odds?

DragonChild,

Will there be any sort of follow up treatment, or will you just have checkups, frequent paps, etc, ct-scans, etc.? Mine ws endo cancer stage 1B and it required no further treatment, just checking. The dr said he usually saw my dx in women 10 or more years older than I was (at the time I was 48).

Endometrial cancers can be very curable if gotten early. It's still a jolt when you know you've had cancer in your body. Take care of yourself and use this site! There's lots of support here.

Blessings.

What are the odds?

Right now we are done. Just very frequent check ups. Dr said just to be on the safe side. Which is ok with me. Just to be on the safe side is how we got this far.

What are the odds?

Yes, mine was very much the same. I kept on telling the DR, oh, it's just perimenopause, and he kept saying, "We don't know that and we can't assume that until we eliminate everything else." Thank God he kept after it!

Blessings.

What are the odds?

DragonChild and Marl:

My cancer was found quite by accident too! I went in for a LAVH due to fibroids and irregular bleeding and the pathologist found a tumor in my fallopian tube. I asked my doctor the same question as you did...and he said this was his first case! Even my gyn/onc has only seen two cases! Actually, there have only been about 2000 cases of Fallopian Tube CA reported! I think my diagnosis is nothing short of a miracle because here I am, one year later, in great health and so much to live for! My DH and DKids are sure glad that they found it!

S and ers,
