enlarged ovary

I'm 38 yrs. old with 2 children. I have bad lower back pain and the dr. said a soft spot on my uterus as well as an enlarged ovary. I've been having my period more frequently-every 21 days as opposed to 28 for about a yr. I had a miscarraige 3 months ago as well. I have to wait 2 wks. to go for a laporoscopy and a hysteroctopy? I'm very anxious as to what these symptoms may be. I'd appreciate any input anyone has. Thanks.

Your symptoms could indicate many things. Most likely a very benign condition. But you are wise to be persistent and find out the cause.
You mentioned an enlarged ovary and a soft spot in your uterus.
Did the doctor determine this by a pelvic exam and abdominal palpation?
Have you had any other testing done?
Perhaps an abdominal or vaginal ultrasound could be performed before surgery along with some blood work.
Are you certain that your miscarriage was complete?
Just some ideas you may want to ask your doctor about.

Hi Kerrikoz,

By the time I was 38 my periods were coming every 21 days also. For me it was perimenopause. I was done with menopause by 44. I don't have any ideas about the ovary and soft spot on your uterus.
