a decision to make...need advice
I know this is not the same cancer, but my cervical cancer did not "present" as cervical cancer normally does so the doctors were surprised to find a tumer had invaded 3/4 of the way into the cervical wall. The cat scan was not conclusive enough either way since they didn't suspect cancer at the time of my hysterectomy 11/19 my world changed 12/10 when after two separate hospitals ran the results of the pathology and concluded highly malignant adneo carncinoma. I am now in my second week of Chemo and radiation. I was given the same option of going in again and taking out the ligaments and lymph nodes all the doctors agreed this would cause more risk for bowl obstructions later on and other problems as I had two previous abdominal surgeries. All the doctors agreed on the same course 96% survival rate with chemo/radiation. Those odds were much better than the 80% do nothing choice.
All of the sisters here did not lie to me and told me though not completely a pleasant experience so far the chemo/radiation is doable. The fear of doing nothing would be worse for me but that's just me I would feel it's a time bomb, my only regret is they didn't know or the RADICAL would have been perfect no place for it to hide.
My prayers are with you that you get good doctors and great advice. BUT GET A 2ND opinion for a gyn/oncologist.

Thanks!
Thanks everyone for your replies. After reading them all and doing some of my own research, I have decided to get a 2nd opinion from another gyn/onc, and I have an appointment to speak with a radiation doc to learn more about that option. I have definitely ruled out the "do nothing" option. I feel that that is just too much of a risk, and I can't live with that question hanging over my head. Thanks again everyone for your support. It's comforting to know that there are so many others out there that have been where I am today. Kim

Dear Sister,
Second Opinion is a good idea. Don't delay.
Many Blessings, and my prayers are with you.
