I discuss/start HRT Wed...advice?

Hi ladies...
I go in on Wed for my 6 week post-op checkup and to discuss and start HRT. I'm 30 and I had a LAVH-BSO for severe endo/adeno. My dr says I am too young to be without estrogen. I'm high risk for osteo because I am very thin and I smoke (trying to quit..am thinking about asking for Zyban also). I've got every menopausal symptom known to man and probably more lol. After doing lots of reading and research, I am thinking that I need to be on progesterone and testosterone as well as estrogen. Suggestions? Advice? Thanks in advance

Elayne

I too had a TVH-BSO September 15 and just went for my four week check up Friday.
My doctor started me on Estrogen patch 24 hours after my hyst and it is working great. I only had two night sweats the first week and nothing since.
My doc explained to me that we "fooled" my body with the estrogen and I don't need anything else. This is good news for me. I am 31 so obviously I had the same fears as you.
I hope you find what works, I sure feel blessed.

Elayne,
Follow this link http://www.hormonejungle.com/estrogen.htm and you will find a list of your various options for hrt. You could print this out and take it in and discuss your various options with your doctor. Also check out this article about progesterone http://www.hormonejungle.com/progesterone.htm

Good luck and let us know how your visit with the doctor goes.

Hugs :-)
