Pain after one year

I have had alot of lower pain, similar to my pre-op pain due to the ovarian cysts. It has been over a year since my TVH including the ovaries. I am a little nervous to go back to the doc and ask why the pain. Anyone else familiar with this? I really appreciate the advice. BTW, I am new to the site. Thanks MUch!!

Pain after one year

Welcome to HysterSisters! I'm glad you found us.

Any new pain or discomfort should always be reported to your doctor. I think you should give them a call and let them know how you are feeling. I understand your hesitation but it would be best if you could find out what is causing the discomfort. It is always better to be on the safe side. Please give your doctor a call. Let us know what the doctor has to say and keep us posted on how you are doing.

Pain after one year

I found out friday that I have another cyst. I am 4 months post op, and all the pain and discomfort is back! The doc says there must be a peice of remnant ovarian tissue in there that keeps forming these cysts. He says he will have to go in again, I am not ready for that. The last surgery was laproscopic, but 2 days post op I ended up with a ruptured colon, due to a weakness in the colon wall after all the scraping of adhesions. I ended up having another surgery with an incision from above my belly button all the way down to my pubic bone and stayed in the hospital for nine days, with a ng tube and all. Mentally I don't think I could do that again! Has anyone had this and found somthing non-surgical that will fix this?

Fisrt surg. was 2000, 2nd 2002, 3rd 2003 now will be scheduling another sometime!

Pain

Tonishu, I'm a 4 month-er also. You have been through a fair bit!
When was your surgery?
I would think they must be able to remove the tissue laparoscopically. That wouldn't be as bad. You would be able to return to your own comfy bed the same day barring any complications.

Best of Luck.

Pain after one year

I'm so sorry. I'm 10 past my last surgery, was 6 weeks past when I did the TVH/BSO, so I KNOW exactually how you feel right now. And I hated the laproscopic surgical procedure, all that CO2 was just too much for me. I'll be thinking of you. But, if you are going to be sore again, and go through the recovery, go ahead and get it over with...there has to come a time when we are all ok and out and about again, right...I'm hoping for that anyway.

Pain after one year

I had my surgery 6 months ago and think now that something is going on with my remaining left ovary but am not sure. I haven't had pain for almost 4 months of any type unless I overdid it around the house. Now for the past 2 days I have this pain that starts just to the left of my incision and above it which ends right about where my ovary should be. I had severe endo and am not on HRT because of that, too afraid that the ovary itself will feed more endo to come back. I will monitor it for a couple more days and I guess if it doesn't go away will have no choice but go back to the doctor, really thought I would be done and over with all this now.....its hard isn't it!!!

Pain after one year

I also thought it would all be over by now. But looks like I will have to travel down the surgical road once again. But no time soon, I have been dealing with this for over 5 years now, I will deal with the pain until it is unbearable, then we will do what needs to be done. On top of all this I also have IBS, so pain and discomfort is part of my everday life! But I will go on, I will survive!!!

uncomfortable

I've been reading with interest.
I thought I was doing well..nearly a year since my hyst. All pain had ceased. Had to come off HRT, and am waiting to see an HRT specialist for advice, but generally felt pretty fit. I'm 38.

The last few weeks I've had a nagging sensation above my scar. (vertical incision 6") Also when I press around the area it feels uncomfortable, and lumpy. I just don't feel right. It's as if I'm carrying something extra around my middle.

I don't know whether its all in my head, but I feel that I shall have to see my Dr. or I'll just keep on worrying.

Pain after one year

Sounds like adhesions. I had some from my tubal ligation incision they found during previous surgery to this hysterectomy. Talk to a gastroenterologist FIRST before doing anything about adhesions, if that's what it turns out to be. Mine said she never would have had the doc remove mine that were wrapped around my intestine. She says they are like mushrooms, you cut, they come back, bigger...

Hi Trene,

Sorry you are getting discomfort after a year. You should report it to your DR though. Always best to be on the safe side. Don't wait till it gets worse, better to know if its something early or if its nothing will ease your mind. Let us know what you find out. Love, ((((STITCHER))))
