finding the right GYN

I was just wondering how anyone came to find the " right "
doctor they " completly" trusted, I've been to a few and I can't seem to get to the point of the " TRUST" factor with any of them,
does that make sense??

finding the right GYN

Hi

In my case, my PCP referred me to my current gyn. We had great rapport from the first meeting.

One suggestion I've read is to call the local hospital and ask to speak to the nurses station in ob/gyn or if there is a womens health center to talk to the nurses there. Ask them who they recommend. Since they work with them they will know who they feel is better.

Hope this helps!

It's also important to ask why they feel the doctor is better. I had a few frivolous answers, even from nurses. (He's cute, funny, etc).

I always ask several sources, and I ask them why. I ask doctors, nurses and clerical staff (the latter more to find out how the doctors treat them). I also ask other patients too. If the same name keeps popping up, that's who I go to.

finding the right GYN

My surgeon, will be my GYN that I havebeen seeing for about 13 years. She is teh head of OB gyn at the hospital and voted top doc in local area.I think I made a wise choice. I am comfortable with her but terrified of the surgery.

I called the local midwives. Both of the two "local" groups recomended the same person. After meeting him, I thought he was wonderful.
One of the things that was pointed out to me during my search 10 years ago, we do not have to take our clothes off everytime, it is ok to say we want to talk first. If the doctor is not agreeable to that, then maybe be they are not the right doctor. Just my opinion, I may be wrong.
