Rectocele repair AFTER hysterectomy

I need some information on having a rectocele repaired AFTER surgery. I had a TAV/BSO in April, 2003 and now face additional surgery.

Specific questions I need answers to:

1) What was recovery like?
2) How long were you off work?
3) What is intercourse like after repairs? (Just got a sex life back, don't want to loose it again.
4) Has it improved your quality of life?

Anything else you can tell me is appreciated.

Rectocele repair AFTER hysterectomy

Had my surgery on a Monday morning, performed vaginally by my regular gyn. Was home by 8:30pm the same day, felt fine. Was off work for the remainder of the week per physician's orders.

for info on how a site specific repair is performed, this is not my doc and I did not have a graft but the info is basically the same beyond that.

Six week "vacation" from the dh, same as the hyst. Things felt very very tight for a while, not much of an issue now at about 9 months post op. Tighter than pre repair, but nothing that I am bothered by.

I can have bm's without problems, I don't have dragging pain by noon, nothing is hanging out, no pain with intercourse.

Everyone's experience is unique, but the only regret I have is not having it fixed as soon as it was diagnosed. Some people have luck with physical therapy, I did not.

Best wishes
