Do You go Back into the Hospital with liquid radiation

HiSisters! I just found out Monday that I will have to have liquid radiation through the vagina and all I read this means to me another hospital stay is this true or not? Don't know how many treatments I will have until I heal up from the hysterectomy that will be two weeks Monday. Angeleyes

Do You go Back into the Hospital with liquid radiation

I've never heard of liquid radiation before (or if I did, I forgot about it!).

Just wanted to punch in to say good luck to you. Hope that your recovery is quick and that whatever follow up treatment you have completely eradicates any microscopic cancer cells that might still be hanging around.

God bless.

Do You go Back into the Hospital with liquid radiation

I've never heard of liquid radiation either. I had both internal and external radiation. For internal radiation I had to stay in the hospital for three days. I had to remain in bed with this contraption up inside me. It wasn't pleasant, but it's doable. But there are places where internal radiation is done as an outpatient. That would be MUCH better than the 3 days in the hospital. Do you have an appointment with a radiation oncologist? He/she will be able to tell you what kind of radiation you will need to get.

Hugs,
Janie

Dear Angeleyes,

I've been checking the boards to see your progress (have responded to you in a previous post a while back)

Traditional radiation scares me, but I have considered it at one point.

I too have never heard of liquid radiation before and I have to admit I am leary of it.

I went a nontraditional course for assumed early stage endometrial cancer and had it treated w/o surgery (using progestins), though I was not prone to fibroids or the polyps which you mention you had.

Did you get the after-surgery staging/grading?
If it was early stage, are you sure you want to go thru w/this radiation?

Yes, these questions are coming from a person that has taken a questionable alternative route... but I worry for you..

I hope that you can even get enough information on this form of treatment..

I will be very interested in how you do in the short and long run

Pat
