bleeding all of a sudden at 16 days post op....

Hi all--
I've had virtually no bleeding post-op except tiny bits when I attempted our flight of stairs so haven't done those yet. All of a sudden this AM I've had some bright, red spotting. I did start taking Advil for pain yesterday with the thought that after 2wks post op that was okay. Could that be the reason? I also made the big mistake of lifting my 5yr old to the counter to put cleats on last night. B4 that I'd been good about nothing over 5lbs but just went on auto-pilot for a minute. Also, I'd thought orgasm with "outer stimulation only" was okay from other posts I've seen on this website. Could that be the cause to have some bleeding the next day? I also was sitting here at the computer for the longest I have since surgery--maybe too much pressure? I haven't noticed much evidence of stitches dissolving except for a couple tiny threads in just the last 2 days--could this bleeding be from the incision just healing? One thing that's tricky with a TVH is that you can't see that incision. My dr's ofc is closed 'til Tues so just wondered if any of you sisters out there had any insight. Thanks so much for and help!

bleeding all of a sudden at 16 days post op....

Yes, i had some bleeding and spotting at 2 wks, and called the dr and he said it was normal, However, my sister did the same as you and started to clean house after a couple of weeks and bled some. the body saying "whoa!"

I know it is hard to guage what to do, but at 2 weeks no lifting, etc..

I do not know about the orgasm and I did not feel worth a toot to try it then. sorry,

hugs, lucy

bleeding all of a sudden at 16 days post op....

I started to bleed about 8 days post op ( TVH ) doctor said to take it easy, but when I called his office they did have me come in. It was because of the stitches disolving but that's not always the case. Rest and if it gets worse call whoever is on call and see what they say, it doesn't hurt to track the doctor down and get medical advice.

Good luck

Krisc,
Any time you have medical concerns, CALL YOUR DR. we all have different recoveries...what is *normal* spotting to one could be serious trouble for another...
Your Dr ., although closed, should have somebody on call to give you the medical advice you need...
Please let us know what they say...
Hugs,
Pam

I did put a call in and spoke to a nurse. She said I probably just did too much or that it is the stitches dissolving. She said I need to come see the dr if the spotting hasn't stopped. So, hopefully it'll go away as quick as it started. Thanks for all your replies.
