Uterus Size = What pregnancy size?

I see a lot of posts out here equating the size of their uterus to a pregnancy phase (12 wk. , 16 wk., etc.) My doctor only told me that my uterus is 10.3 cm. Can anyone tell me what that equates to in terms of what that would equate to if I was pregnant? I would just like to put it into some perspective for myself. This was probably the only question I neglected to ask my Dr. during my consultation. I am having an LSH on March 11. Thanks!

Uterus Size = What pregnancy size?

I would like to know the same thing. My uterus is 14.3 cm and was wondering what week 'pregnancy' that would relate to.

Uterus

Hello there,
My path. report stated the following:
Uterus weight 974 g and measured 18 x 15 x 12cm. Apparently I was the equivalent of a 22 week pregnancy. Not surprising that, 9 weeks on, my trousers are looser!
All the best.

I was wondering the same thing. When I finally went in to the OB/GYN, she asked why I had waited so long to come in. She asked me if my clothes had been getting tight. That's when I started to cry. My uterus is 800gms., just a little less than Nellie One's. That is like a 5 month pregnancy! In US terms, 800 grams is like 28 lbs.! Glad to hear your trousers are looser, Nellie! I can't wear anything right now. Luckily I only have 3 more days of work to go and it is snowing/raining/melting so I can get away with more casual work attire.

Here's to fitting into spring clothes just in time!! Well, up here that is relative. It just means fewer layers.

Uterus Size = What pregnancy size?

The average adult uterus is about 3 inches long, 2 inches wide, and 1 inch thick. After menopause, the uterus shrinks to the pre-adolescent size. ..normal weight is between 50-60 gms.

Yep, the miracle insurance company nurse I talked to this morning told me 800 grams was equivalent to a 19 week pregnancy. I was pretty close. I am ready to lose the alien!

Uterus Size = What pregnancy size?

Wow, you guys, those are BIG! I'm just getting started on trying to diagnose my problems but I totally feel pregnant. My stomach sticks out like I'm 5 months along. Well, that's when I let it stick out. Usually I try to keep it sucked in but lately it's getting hard to do because it's too much work. And when I just let it out, it's really, really hard. Just like when I had a baby in there.

Does any of this sound familiar to you guys? I just had a pap the other day, wouldn't the doctor have been able to tell if it was enlarged or can you only tell by ultrasound? Does anyone know if an enlarged uterus would then cause the bladder to fall...a cystocele? That's what I believe I'm showing signs of. It would sure make sense.

I'm so glad you guys are feeling better after removing these monsters! I dream of this being me so much.

Take care, Lovely

Lovely,

I usually just went to my primary care Dr. for paps, and she never knew I was enlarged or had fibroids. She sent me to a gyn. because she thought I had an infection. Well, I didn't have an infection, but the gyn. immediately said that I was very enlarged. Guess it goes to show you that we should all have been going to a specialist for these yearly exams. Who knew?

Uterus Size = What pregnancy size?

My uterus is equal to a 25-26 week pregnancy my doc told me. It "alien" measured just about 20 cm (almost 9") during the ultrasound I had this past Monday.
I've always been large in the middle so I didn't give it much thought. However, whenever the kids would play rough and jump on my belly, it was like being punched in the stomach. I double over in pain. I can't sleep on my belly, only on my side with pillows. Yes, it's exactly like being pregnant in my opinion.

Best to you piaben

Uterus Size = What pregnancy size?

Hi!

Mary, My appt yesterday was with the gyno...wouldn't you think she would say if she felt my uterus was enlarged? She gets in & out of there so fast, I wonder how she can tell anything at all! I'm off to my primary dr to get the referral for the uro to check out this bladder bulging of mine. I'm tempted to go out of network to a really good urogyno that I've been to before but I'll wait and check a few more things..I'd rather not pay any money for the surgery but then again, I want good care.

Hey Redbird, I get the same pain when something pushes on my belly! I've even had our 12 lb. cat walk across my stomach and I felt the pain & wanted to just throw her off...which I could never really do...love my kitty! I'm not overweight, getting chunky & out of shape tho and if I stand naked in front of a mirror and let my stomach out.....it looks like the pictures of my pregnancies. Another reason that I try to suck in my gut is because I'm afraid someone will ask when I'm due! Even when I sit, sometimes I get the feeling that my breasts are resting on the top part of my stomach...that totally reminds me of being pregnant.

Julia, I can really understand how you would cry once you found out that you're not imagining all this. I know that's what I will do and I'll say "See, I told you" to my husband!

Anyway, thanks for all the info and for posting all the sizes! Talk to you later.

Lovely

P.S. Maybe after my dr. appt., I'll stop off and get some maternity clothes!
