Elbow Surgery and Chemo Plan

Chemo for Friday the 6th is off. Surgery on the elbow (I HATE it when they look at a CT or xray and go "bad") is Monday and I go in about 1 and have it at 3:30 and get to stay overnight. Then I go back on Friday the 13th (how's that?) for chemo. They want to be sure my counts are OK and no infection.

Sorry about the delay in chemo. At least they will let you stay overnight to recover. You are typing well with one hand. Keep going--this hurdle will pass.

Ahem! (Copugh cough)

I am not exactly typing one handed. I can get my arm at a very good acceptable angle and type with both. Heck, I can even do my bra now. LOL I'll be glad to get this done and am not looking forward to hospital "breakfast" on Tuesday.

You are doing pretty well one-armed. I'm glad you at least have a plan now. All the best

I will be praying for you on Monday! Good luck with that elbow surgery! Sorry to hear that your chemo is postponed, but I guess one thing at a time.. good luck with your hospital food, I know you don't care for it Actually, my husband and everyone in my family think I am pretty strange, as I really lLIKE hospital food!! I may have already told you that ( or maybe not, as it is a bit strange ) When I had my first daughter, I had not had anything to eat all day, and asked for a second tray!! The nurse almost fell over laughing and said NOBODY ever had asked her that before, and she got me one!!!!! Strange, I know..... anyway, good luck and hopefully, you will recover from this soon!

Elbow Surgery and Chemo Plan

My hospital gives me "imitation fruit punch drink." Which is kind of like "imitation processed cheese food product." Which I think is about five steps removed from anything that actually resembles cheese, or punch.

Ellen -- get a friend to bring you something normal. Or use the phone and order in a big salad or protein-rich sandwich (not a burger, but something healthy and proteiny).

So sorry about your chemo postponement, but maybe it will confuse the little buggers and they'll get blasted even more when your next treatment comes. When my treatments got postponed, I told myself that each delay just meant a bigger blast and more cancer death when the next cycle came around.

I am so sad for all the pain and trials that the lovely women here on this site have had to go through.

Good Idea Siren

No raw fruit or vegetables though--I've never done that through any chemo and now with needing neupogen even more I avoid that. If I'm not too woozy or hooked up, I may hit the coffee shop for something. Actually I probably won't feel like eating and anything that has to be cut will be out of the question...and I can guarantee they will manage to send up either non-Koshre or else some horrendous thing that makes the dogfood look good or something I can't stand like a spicy burrito.
