cyst question

I had my hyster done in june or july of last year. It surprises me that I cant remember. It has been so nice not to cramp and bleed like crazy. But since before the hyst I have had pain on the right side and I thought it was from my c-sect in Feb, but there was no scaring or endo or anything from that to cause the pain. So now just with in the last few weeks I have seen a GI doc because my ob was confident that the pain was bowel related. I had a CT with contrast through the IV, that showed a 3 cm cyst on my right ovary. Since that came back alright we did a colonoscopy...nothing special showed up. Then off for a small bowel series. Absolutly nothing bad. So this is good, there is nothing wrong with my bowels.

Could it be this 3 cm cyst? Could this cyst hang around for so long? I dont know what to do now. Should I go back to my ob and tell him about the cyst or should I get a second opinion? I am thinking that since this pain has been here for months that my ob must have missed it...I just dont want to hear that it should not be causing me the problems that I am having. Any ideas are greatly appreciated. I hate the fact that I have had all the testing done for what seems like nothing even though I do know that all is well in that aspect.

cyst question

If you kept your ovaries it is possible to still develop cysts on them. Perhaps he/she did not miss it, maybe it developed afterwards. Cysts can cause pain. I was a cyst making machine before the hyst and mine did cause me lots of pain.

My suggestion would be to talk with your gyn about this. Perhaps you could pick up the films and bring them with you for the doctor to look at. If you don't feel as if your current gyn has been very helpful than you could make an appt to see a different one.

painful cysts

I to had a tah on 2/19/03 I kept both ovaries. I started having cramping and severe pain in my pelvic. I had an MRI done with contrast that showed a 6x 10 cyst and my ob kept telling me also that it shouldn't be causing me the pain. Well, after a couple of weeks and alot of pain I told her I couldn't take it anymore...She agreed to go in to remove my ovaries via laporoscopy... so we thought... Once inside she found severe adhesions. The true cause for my pain they are so bad that after two hours of trying to get through she sewed me back up and I am awaiting surgery at the Univ. Of Fla. So don't back down. You know your body.. Listen to it... Pain is not normal and you should not have to live with it. Please get a second opinion.
I send you a big hug
