What size should I get?

I know that I'm going to want large, comfy clothes for healing in, but I'm not sure how large to go. I'm having a TVH (hopefully).

Should I get two sizes larger than normal, or would one size up be sufficient?

Thanks from a neurotic over-organizer!

What size should I get?

one size larger underwear should be sufficient......i found that mens pajama pants/lounge pants are/were very comfortable...Target, Walmart, etc sell them fairly cheap--$10 or so a pair....i even wore them out (total embarassment for my child..haha) to take walks--still do actually...i've got some with Fred Flintstone, some with sarcastic remarks, some with chili peppers, etc.

underwear and pants

I agree one size up should be ok. I also had a TVH & bladder sling. One thing I discovered was I needed things to be up higher than my natural waist as if I ever had one. I don't know if it was from the TVH or the bladder sling, but I couldn't stand to have anything too constricting around the area below the belly button. I suggest briefs that you can pull up high. Also even though I picked out a sweatsuit to wear home from the castle, I needed a roomier sweatsuit.

What size should I get?

Hi,

I have agree you need two sizes bigger for underware(briefs). Pants I just bought a size bigger and they are very comfortable. I had my LAVH done last Friday and I have had some swelly belly. Good luck to on your day and with your recovery.

What size should I get?

I bought the same size of everything that I wore before surgery. The panties were a little snug the first day or so , but in the castle they gave my some funny looking underwear to wear for the first 2 days while I was there anyway ( they said I needed to wear those special ones for 2 days) I bought large comfy pants, but I always like my clothes baggy anyway. I have been just fine with no problems at all.

Don't stress to much about the surgery, for me, it was only as bad as I made it. I have felt so much better after having had the surgery than I did prior to having it, that it was a blessing.

Thanks!!

I appreciate all the feedback! I am a *bit* extreme in personality, and was afraid I would buy clothes that would be comfy, and end up not being able to keep them on!

So glad I found this website!

What size should I get?

Though kind of hard to find - I looked at every store before my surgery - pants, pajama bottoms, or sweats without elastic but a drawstring are really comfortable to me. That is all I have worn since I have been home.

What size should I get?

Before my hyst. I had purchased several panties one size larger and several two sizes larger. I had to wear the ones two sizes bigger. I borrowed a couple of pair of pants from my mother to wear after surgery for Dr. appts and other outings and I couldn't fit into them. She is two sizes bigger than I am! Luckily I had a pair of pants that I just wear in the house that have the elastic worn out and they fit. It is strange I weighed myself at the doctor's office today. I lost 7 pounds yet still have all this uncomfortable bloating.

I actually wear nightgowns in the house. Bending to pull up pants is a bit much for me. It is difficult enough when my underwear falls down to my ankles and I have to pick them up!!
