Dear Debbie,
Hopefully this is just another one of those really bad speed bumps in the game of life that will be fixed very shortly.
You are one strong courageous woman and it made me feel very sad when you suggested that your family would be better off without you. We are all fighting different kinds of battles and are all here to talk about them..That is what matters.
I am hoping that your cough is just a bad cold and that getting some anitbiotics into you will help. On the funny side, many years ago my cousin had a really bad cough and from coughing she broke her rib. The pain was outrageous. Who knows!!
Keep us up to date.

Prayers Please
Debbie Dearest - I have not been here long, and will not even be seeing my doctor and scheduling my surgery until next week. When I read your post I nearly wept at your willingness to "go on" in spite of what has been happening with you. You are an inspiration to us all that's for sure! You have such a positive, upbeat attitude that I know I for one can sure take a lesson from! Nobody would be better off without you - you are obviously very loving, caring and giving, which the world could sure use more of. Keep up your positive mental attitude and hold tightly to your faith. God will see you through. You will be in my prayers! Many blessings to you!

Debbie, hang in there. I have had bowel urgency since radiation, so I can definitely relate to your bladder situation. I never used to worry about access to bathrooms like I do now! I liked your solution to the problem, and I suspect that Karenann, with her fondness for all things Disney, will really appreciate your Mickey Mouse overalls!!
It sounds like you might have bronchitis or something as a result of your cold. Those hang-on coughs are the worst. I hope your doctor can give you something to take care of it quickly.
Try to take it easy until you build up your resistance, and I'll say an extra prayer that you're restored to good health very soon.
Be well,
MoeKay

 s Debbie
I am sorry to read that you are having a tough time!!!
I think all of us at times feel some guilt for the pain and worry we have brought to our family and loved ones. But try to look at yourself as a courageous role model for all the young people you have always shared your life with.
You are one of those people that lives life to the fullest in spite of great adversity. And I believe that is one of life's most valuable lessons. To me you are truly a hero!!!
Hopefully your chest pain is being caused by those tiny muscles between all your ribs. Costrocondritis. Not uncommon with a bad cold. Of course I am no MD. And that is JMHO.
Don't be thinking the worse. You still have too many jobs left to complete.

Dear Debbie,
I am praying for you, too! You are such a great lady and I am sure that you are a real inspiration to those youth members at your church! I am sure that your family has a tremendous respect for you and love you lots! We are all for you here!!! I hope you are going to get answers at your doctors visit. Just regular stuff, non-cancer stuff!! Good luck! Please let us know how it goes and know that we are here for you to vent anytime! Feel better and don't let cancer-head make you fearful!

Dear Debbie:
It's hard to keep on going when it seems like there is so much working against you. But, you will never know the lessons that are learned and miracles that occur from your difficult road unless you stick around to see them happen!
My youngest son, age 6, has had a horrible cough and congestion for 2 weeks. We have been through 2 antibiotics, about 100 breathing treatments, cough medicine, inhalers, etc...it's a very tough bug. Maybe that's what you have...hopefully your MD can give you something to help. I know that I have had chest pain from coughing...it hurts! I've also had urinary accidents from coughing...it's no fun! Thank God that you were near a thrift shop!
I'd like to share this story with you...because I think that we all tend to see the restrictions and negatives that our having cancer has had on our families.
Jonny (my little one) had to have some blood work this week. I know from working at Urgent Care that 6 year olds usually cry and fuss when having blood drawn. Strangely enough, Jonny calmly pulled up his sleeve and let the tech draw his blood without so much as a flinch! Not even a single tear! I couldn't believe it, so I asked him about it. Jonny's answer to me was that all those times that I had my blood drawn last year, I didn't cry or make a single sound. So, he wanted to be brave just like me! He told me that I'm taking good care of him just like he did for me!
Could I bottle that and sprinkle it on him when he's a teenager?
Debbie, your courage and determination is an inspiration to your family and to others! You have special gifts!!!
Take care and feel better. Get some rest

I came home tonight, saw al the replies to my post and am typing thru tears. Thank you each so much for taking the time to write and pray for me in the midst of your own suffering. I manage to get everyhting done, had a nice talk with a priest friend, and enjoyed being with the teens. One of the girls in our youth group is 18 and mentally challenged. She is emotionally like a 10 year old. She is so simple and joyful, loves life, just trusts God to care of her each. She teaches me so much that sometimes I think she is my guardian angel.
The chest pain has gotten worse,. I can barely lift my left arm, but hopefully the Dr will find the cause and it wil be treatable.
I don't know what I would do without all of you

Debbie, I just want to add my prayers to the others. I've often been blessed by your posts. In the midst of your suffering you have done so much for others. I read somewhere that "if your life is being broken, it could be that pieces would feed a multitude." I'm sending you ((((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))))).
