Can adhesion pain get worse???

I have been waiting for surgery for two weeks now and it seems that the pain is getting alot worse... I mean I was having cramping and sharp pains before but now the pains are breath taking and I can't stand up.... I wake up in the middle of the night soaking wet from sweat even my sheets are wet and I still have my ovaries. I have severe adhesions and a 6x10 mass on my left ovary. I have been experiencing alot of difficulty with bm and w/out stool softeners and suppositories I can't go at all. But the pain is truly becoming unbearable.
I have called the drs but it is as if they are avoiding me. I go for my post op tomorrow... For my first lap done two weeks ago today.... I am supposed to be going in to a specialist to have my ovaries and adhesions removed sometime soon hopefully. But I am not sure I can wait I feel like the pain is going to overcome me.
I was just wandering if this is normal or if I was just a weakling . I thought my pain threshold was pretty strong seeing as I had three 9+lbs babies all natural no pain meds at all. But this is a killer... I am on avinza once a day and percocet 2x a day and I still can't hardly get off the couch.... I don't know what to do.... I am truly depending on God's grace to face the day.

Hi hun...

I'm so sorry you are feeling so much pain.

I'm not sure adhesions can change that quickly....but hey, those pesky things aren't that predictable to me, so what do I know.

Seriously though, I'm concerned that your cyst may have ruptured. Did you feel increased pain at any specific time? Are you experiencing any increased weakness?

I'm really thinking you need to get to the ER. Your pain needs to get under control and what you're doing at home isn't working for you.

I'm really very sorry you're in so much pain. My heart goes out to you. I will certainly say a prayer that your pain eases for you soon.

Hugs and Healing,

this needs checking out!

the cyst could have twisted and if you have a torsion then this is a serious condition that needs immediate attention. This is what scared me over xmas, knowing I had a cyst on ovary ( as I thought then, but it was in tube) and knowing I could do something that could make it twist around and cut off its blood supply.

However, even if not a torsion or rupture, adhesions and cysts can cause serious pain, I had two checks for kidney infections but it was caused by adhesions wrapped around tube from kidney to bladder and last surgery was done to free these up.

Pain levels are not related to size of cyst more location of cyst and what organ or nerve is in the way of their increasiong pressure that causes pain.

Please see an emergency doctor and I hope your own doctor will soon realise that you need to be seen and assessed as soon as possible. Wishing you all the best, hugs, Linda

Can adhesion pain get worse???

I'm sorry you are experiencing soo much pain I agree with the others about needing to have this checked out

I have suffered from some pretty severe pain caused by Adhesions over the past 4 yrs....mine has groen progressively worse:-( They do tend to *shrink/draw-up* with time causing any pulling they may be causing to worsen but I think yours sounds like something has changed in there Possibly similar to what ((Rita & Linda)) suggested...
Good Luck with everything ! I do hope you are able to find some answers & relief to your ongoing pain & complications!
Pls let us know how you are doing...I again urge you to speak with someone about your increasing pain
