Post Op complications

I wanted to let everyone know about the post-op complications I am having from my recent surgery. (Last week I had a laparascopy for a PSN, endometriosis/endosalpingiosis removal, and ...putting my cecum/right bowel in the correct place as it had prolapsed down into my pelvis..I can't recall the medical term)

Anyway, The doctor put the catheter back in today. I am able to urinate and thought I was doing fine in that area but apparently I am having retention so it is still not working right. I was not able to tell that I wasn't emptying.... until this afternoon when it almost completely stopped working again (I had 800cc retained).

I also had a dramatic increase in pain on my right side Monday night. This is the area where he did most of the dissection. I had a u/s today to check the area and have 300cc of blood pressing up against my bladder.... which could be why that isn't working right again. The doctors are monitoring me as to whether I am still bleeding internally or this is old blood from the first few days post-op... if it is the later it will resolve with time... if not I will need surgery in the next few days. So I am hoping it will resolve on it's own.

So I couldn't help but think that I almost didn't call the doctor because I didn't want to complain if it was just post-op recovery things.... but I did because I know at HS we always say it never hurts to check in with the doctor...

((((( Sarah ))))

OMG... I am sorry to hear of these complications.... I can relate to your bladder retention... 800cc WOWIEEE that's painful! During my last delivery they pulled the cath out before I gave birth, and forgot, pumped me full of fluids for hours... I was in PAIN.. I couldn't pee there was so much pressure... Much to their surprise I was immediately cathed in bed STAT, they yelled.... 1300cc's basically they told me it was a record and equal to a pitcher of beer... They had to kink the cath, so they could empty the container to catch some more.... LOL!!! I remember the comments from my family on the other side of the curtain.... Still Going.... Stilll Going.... I was the talk of the floor that night... I too hope for your sake your problems resolve on their own... Good thing you called the doc... Please get some rest!!!! I will keep you in my prayers sweetie!!!! Please keep us posted....

BIG BIG HUGS.... Susie

Dear Sarah

Oh Sarah,
You deserve so much better than this right now . I am having a talk with God as we speak and telling him as much.

Please know you are being thought of with light and love, and the intercessions of many sisters asking that no harm come to you,
