Granulosa cell tumor?

Has anyone heard of this or been diagnosed? I just received a call from gyn who just got the pathology report. I had a LAVH on 2-6-04 and have been waiting for the report. When I went in for surgery was told I had a uterine mass of some type and would have a TAH. When I came out of surgery, I had had a LAVH and my ovary was the problem. It was at least three times the size of the other. I saw pics...it looked massive.....forgive the pun.

Now that the DX of GCT is here, I am unsure what to do. Dr. doesn't seem too concerned, but everything I am finding indicates cancer or the need to see a gyn oncologist. I know we caught it early, but I want to be sure we are not overlooking something. I haven't seen the report personally (probably wouldn't understand it if I had). I do not go in to the gyn until next Friday for post op appt. Wondering if I should wait or not to try to get more answers.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Granulosa cell tumor?

Hi Lori,

Just to set your mind at ease, and ours also, why not seek a second opinion from an oncologist/gynocologist. They really are the experts in this field.

Keep us up to date.

Granulosa cell tumor?

Hi Lori.

You might very well feel more at ease if you consulted a gyn/onc.

I hope your recuperation is steady and happy--follow DR's orders. get lots of rest and be sure to pamper yourself little.

Blessings.
