OMG!!! I can't tell everyone how overwhelmingly happy I am after my hysterectomy!!! I've had an easy first few days. The pain is much less than I anticipated. (OK 600 mg of Motrin and Vicodin plays a big part in that. hehe ) And I'd like to think it's also because I'm so thrilled the doctor found just what we'd hope she'd find; endometriosis. And the surprise, adenomyosis! That clearly explains why I was in so much pain and the bleeding was so heavy every month. We also didn't expect the chocolate cysts or the cyst on my cervix.

Because the doc was able to clearly see all of the endrometriosis sites and erraticated all of them, I am able to take HRT!

I've been spoiled rotten by my dear, dear, dear husband and this might be the best Valentine's Day. My hubby, when asked what he got me for Valentine's Day, jokes, "A hysterectomy." He knows how much it means to me to have a possiblity of life without pain. I just have to be patient and not go hog wild thinking I feel much better than I do.

This was the best decision I've ever made and I'm so glad I insisted on it with my doctor.

Back to resting....

I'm so glad you are feeling so well, and that you are so happy about your hyst.
Now, be a good princess and don't overdo it. Make sure you drink lots of water, take lots of little walks, and REST!!! You still have anesthetic in your system so you may feel better that you really are, so do take it easy!
And keep those great spirits! I hope your whole recovery goes just as well or even better!

Glad you are feeling so well! So am I. My Dr. has me on Vioxx and I have no pain to speak of. I haven't had a pain pill since last night before bed. I took one Vioxx the night before my surgery to be proactive on the swelling and inflammation and since the second day when they took me off the pain pump I have been doing really well. That day I was on Tylox and it didn't do it by itself. As soon as we combined it with Vioxx I have been really comfortable. I just take one in the morning. Side effect is no arthritis pain in my hands!

Happy Valentine's Day! You are lucky your DH is into it, mine is watching golf and could care less.
