Question about period due when hysterectomy performed

It will be fine. I never knew when mine were going to come as they were there most of the time. Sure enough the day before surgery . . . it was fine.

Hope all goes well for you!

Question about period due when hysterectomy performed

Hi

Most drs don't care, but you might want to check with yours. I've read where some surgeries are cancelled because of it. Which to me is really stupid when you think about it. You're going to bleed anyway...what's the big deal? But everyone has their own way of doing things.

I called my dr and he said it was no big deal. Lo and behold, my period started a couple of days before surgery. They just had me sit on a folded towel once I got into the hospital gown.

Best wishes....hope it all goes well for you.
Blessings.

Question about period due when hysterectomy performed

I had a bleeding episode on my way to the hospital!!!
No matter, the majority don't even blink. After all, that is one of the reasons we are going in, to help stop undue bleeding.
You'll be fine.

Period close to Surgery

I got mine the morning I woke up to go to the hospital - when I got to the hospital the doc said "NO PROBLEM" - But, you may want to double check with your doc just to make sure.

Question about period due when hysterectomy performed

Told my doc that the day the surgery is scheduled I would probably be on my period. He didn't even flinch. Said that some women never stop bleeding and there's no way you could try and schedule a surgery when your not bleeding - and even if you did you'd probably start anyway regardless of whether it was time or not. So, mine said it was no big deal - but call your doc and see what he says.

Question about period due when hysterectomy performed

My doctor told me he would like to do the surgery around the time, if not during my period. He said it gives him a better look at what is going on in there during that time.....
Hope that helps & Good Luck!
