You are not alone

My surgery is on the 23 too! I'm checking into the hospital sunday evening. My surgery is scheduled for 7:00 am.
My prayers will always be for you and all the sisters, not only who will be undergoing surgery but also for those who have been thru surgery and are waiting for path results.

We must always remeber that the Lord is our shepard and he shall guide us. Amen

Pre-Op Tonight!

Hi ladies! It's quite normal to have a wide range of emotions - and crying certainly is among the most normal! I had my TVH 7 years ago. I cried, was angry, sad, scared, anxious. The night of my surgery I remember waking up in a panic thinking I wanted them to put it (my uterus) back! Like they could have done that anyhow! But point is, we have alot of feelings about what is happening and it's good to get them out. I have 4 children of my own and 2 step children. One would think with 6 kids I would have been quite happy to have my baby days over with... 7 years later, I'm very much so. But at the time, I had to grieve that those days were coming to a close for me. While I didn't want more children, just knowing that I no longer had the choice bothered me. I was focused on what I was losing instead of what I was gaining.
Now, I've been 7 years with no periods, no underwear soaking in the sink, no having to sleep on towels because I might flood during the night, no leaking urine when I ran/jumped/danced/golfed/sneezed, no worries of how my life would have to drastically change if I suddenly became pregnant, but most importantly, no more worries about uterine or cervical cancer. The list of positive things that can come from your surgery is long - you have to seek them out. Take the time to cry - it's a good thing to do - it's a release. Know that you are going to be fine and our thoughts and prayers are with you..
