Overies...keep them or remove them?

Hello ladies.

I had a TAH May 1st 2003 and my doc left in my overies. My recovery was great and I had never felt better. Now after 9 months I started having this horrible pain on my lower right side, I could feel that I was ovulating and the cramps were worse then before the TAH. It started last month and now this month is WORSE then before. I will swell up till my skin feels like ripping, am running a fever on and off and am now vomitting usually in the morning. I had a CAT last month and I already have a cyst on my right overie (exactly were the pain is coming from) and am seeing a Doctor on Thursday the 26th. I can't believe I might have to go back to the castle and become a princess again (the lader of the two is fine by me) but remember the recovery and that is no picnic.

I don't know yet what he will suggest, I have a feeling I should have them taken out rather then remove the cyst. I had my TAH because of fibroids and had bad periods forever, but never have I had anything on my overies.

I need some help. I am also worried about cancer, and not sure what choice to make.

Thanks so much, I can always depend on my sisters

Overies...keep them or remove them?

Hi- Sorry to hear you are having problems. When you swell up,
is it just in abdomen area or all over? I am curious, because I kept ovaries as well, and have body swelling and am also nauseous at times, especially in the morning. I had an abdominal Cat scan done in November, which came back normal. Please post what you end up finding out-because I am wondering if they should have just removed my ovaries as well during TAH.
Something is definately whacked with my body, and I am still searching for answers as well. Good luck to you-Diane

Have you ladies ever been told you have endo. Just a question becouse that does involve pain and it will not show on a ct, ultrsound or MRI. I would check with your doctor and make sure you get it taken care of. Nobody should have to go through pain. I hope you will be taken care of.

Thanks you ladies for moving my post and caring so much. I will let you know the out come, I can't wait to see the doc.

The swelling is mainly in my lower right side, does not go above my belly button and it only does it when I am ovulating but it is lasting longer then a normal ovulation, so I believe the cyst is growing and am afraid it will get to the point of hurting all the time, YIKES that would kill me. The pain today is still there and is not letting up, it has been 7 days today so I hope it is almost over.

I'll keep in touch and thanks again for your support.
