Recipe for the bowels

Hi Sisters, I too had a problem moving my bowels and I have a recipe for bran flax muffins that are delicious, moist and most importanly they WORK! If you are worried about calories you can ditch the oil and use applesauce just a little extra than you would oil. Also I doubled this recipe so you can half it if you wish. They freeze really well. I just take a couple out the night before. You will have the smoothest easy bowel movements. Also because of the bulk you will probably have more than one movement per day. I have all my family and friends on this recipe. Good Luck Sisters!

Bran Flax Muffins

3 Cups Oat Bran
2 Cups all purpose flour
2 Cups flax seed (before it is grounded) approximately 2 3/4 cups of grounded
2 cups natural bran
2 tbsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
(you may use 2 whole oranges washed quarters, seeded or you may use blueberries. When I use blueberries I usually grate some orange peel for a little zing.

2 cups brown sugar
21/2 cups buttermilk (I use regular 2% milk and lemon juice or vinegar to sour)
1 cup canola oil
4 eggs
2 tsp baking soda
2 cups raisons (Optional)

• In a large bowl, combine oat bran, flour, flax seed, bran, baking powder and salt. Set aside.
• In a blender or food processor, combine oranges, brown sugar, buttermilk, oil eggs and baking soda. Blend well.
• Pour wet mixture into dry ingredients. Mix until well blended.
• Stir in raisons and or blueberries.
• Fill paper lined muffin tins almost to the top. These don’t rise a whole lot.
• Bake in 375∘ F oven for 18 to 20 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in centre of muffin comes out clean. Don’t overcook or they will be dry.
• Cool muffins in tins 5 minutes before removing to cooling rack.
• Makes approximately 36 muffins. This recipe has been doubled.

Thanks soo much for the recipe - I need all the help I can get when it comes to this subject. I think its a good idea to have a good healthy source of natural fiber instead of relying solely on stool softeners.
